YOUR FASCINATING PHYSICAL ASSETS

Fascinating Physical Assets Exploration + Discovery + Strategy

Tell me what you like and I’ll tell you what you are. – John Ruskin

The second step of the Fascinating Individual Style™ framework is where you discover the physical assets of your fascinating aesthetic — the natural patterns of design elements as seen in your physical features that influence your experience of beauty and vitality and inform your style expression.

Artists and designers have studied design elements and their effects for centuries and developed many theories on their uses. However, the number and variety of these theories demonstrate that no universally accepted rules apply — the perception of the elements and their use depends on individual experience.

In this light, the Fascinating Physical Assets assessment explores the design elements of your aesthetic in a slightly different way than what you might find elsewhere.

It’s one of the best ways to develop a sense of your body’s inherent physical assets and their connection to personality allowing you to curate the myriad of style choices available today.

Master the elements and principles of design, and you’ll intuitively create a more effective, memorable, and nuanced style expression — taking it to the next level.

How it works.

It is the human impulse to create shapes, colours, tones, and textures that tell the truth about who we are. - Judy George with Todd Lyon from The Domain Book

We take a designer’s approach and, step-by-step, make keen observations of the physical assets of your aesthetic:

  • The natural composition and patterns of colour harmony, colour temperature, colour value, colour value contrast, and colour intensity as seen in the colours of your hair, skin, eyes, whites of eyes, and teeth.
  • The natural composition and patterns of lines that define the contours, shape & form, proportion, balance, and scale as seen in the structure of your body and facial features.
  • The natural composition and patterns of textural qualities as seen in your hair, skin, eyes, and voice.
  • The natural refinement manifested in the amount of design and textural patterns as seen in your hair, skin, eyes, and voice.

Some, but not all, of your personality facets will manifest in your physical assets. Some manifestations will be pretty obvious, some not so obvious. And they won’t display in the same way for another individual as they do for you.

The more receptive you are to these colourful messages and rhythms, the more you show up in the world, the more pleasure you derive for yourself, and the more you give to others.

As we’ll establish, the elements of your fascinating aesthetic are far from just visual experiences; they can influence your decision-making, thinking, and impact your moods and your appearance, so on and so forth.

All in all, they can be powerful tools if you know how to use them. The meanings of the elements rise from our deepest needs and natural associations. And as you’ll learn, we react to them subconsciously and automatically.

Research reveals individuals, such as yourself, make a subconscious judgment about a person, environment, or product within 90 seconds of initial viewing and that between 62% and 90% of that assessment is based on colour alone. Source: CCICOLOR – Institute for Color Research.

Research also reveals individuals make subconscious judgments based on visual and tactile factors.

For example, 92.6 percent said they put the most importance on visual factors when purchasing products. And 5.6 percent said that the physical feel via the sense of touch was most important. Hearing and smell each drew 0.9 percent. Source: Secretariat of the Seoul International Color Expo 2004.

To truly grasp the meaning of each of these design elements, we must remember that although some colour hues, design lines and textures may be similar, they don’t awaken the exact same emotion or experience for each of us.

Every individual and their needs are different. The right colour, line, and texture for your purpose will depend largely on context. Factors like who and what you are, your lifestyle, roles, goals, and activities all need to be considered.
